Milano’daki son 24 saatimi “Ah, bu son akşam yemeği!”, “Bu son parti!”, “Bu son kez metroya binişim!” şeklinde özetleyebilirim. Bu “son” duygusallıklarıma bir ara verip neler olduğunu anlatmaya başlamazsam “son yazım” olacağından korkuyorum.

Pazartesi öğleden sonra, blogdan kafamı kaldırıp DSquared2 ofisinin yolunu tuttum. Ertesi sabah gerçekleşecek (ve benim biraz sonra bahsedeceğim) defilenin son hazırlıklarının yapıldığı sırada DSquared2 ekibine kısacık bir “Merhaba!” deme şansı yakalayıp Gezi Parkı olayları sırasında gösterdikleri destek için teşekkür ettim. Malumunuz, tasarımcılar Dean ve Dan Caten, olayların ilk patlak verdiği günlerde sosyal medya üzerinden bir destek mesajı paylaşarak bizlerle birlikte olduklarını söylemişlerdi.

DSquared2 ofisini, ertesi gün göreceklerimin merakıyla terk ettikten sonra geceyi MSGM ve Toilet Paper eşliğinde gerçekleştirilen partiyle sonlandırmak üzere hazırlıklara koyuldum. Toilet Paper, bir önceki partisiyle o kadar çok konuşulmuştu ki beklentilerim bir hayli yükselmişti. Ancak Teatro Manzoni’deki parti, artık bilmemkaçıncı etkinlikte aynı yüzleri görmekten midir bilmem, benim için gerçekten de “son” oldu.

Salı sabahı, güne erken başlangıç. Sabah 09:30’da gerçekleştirilen defilelere geç kalma alışkanlığımı bu defa yenip tam vaktinde Via Valtellina’daki DSquared2 defile alanına ulaştım. Uçak şeklindeki davetiye, çoktan defileyle ilgili kafamda bir şeyler oluşturmuştu ancak sahnede bir uçak görmeyi beklediğimi söylersem yalan olur. Evet, sahnede bir uçak. Tabi sadece bu da değil; ağaçlar, şırıl şırıl akan bir şelale ve “cennetten kopup gelen” erkekler.

Toprak ve odun parçalarından oluşan podyumda modeller ilerledikçe, farklı tarzları bir araya getirmeyi başaran DSquared2 İlkbahar Yaz 2014 defilesinin yine akıllara kazınacağından emin oluyordum. Özellikle defilenin son bölümünde izlediğimiz gece ağırlıklı tasarımlar, favorilerim arasındaki yerlerini aldılar. Defilenin finalinde seyircilerle buluşan sürpriz ikili ise en az tasarımlar kadar ilgi çekti diyebilirim. Alkışlar bitip de ışıklar açılınca kendimi bulduğum kuliste Dean ve Dan’i tebrik edip hızlı adımlarımı eve doğru çevirdim. Eğer iki saat içerisinde toparlanmazsam uçağa geç kalacaktım. Gerçi tam da o anda uçağı kaçırmak dünyanın en güzel fikri gibi geliyordu ancak Milano’da işsiz güçsüz ne yapacağımın bir cevabı olmadığı için Malpensa’dan kaçışım olmadığını fark ettim. Bu son günün son dakikalarını, biraz farklı bir ortamda zaman geçirmenin, ciğerlerimizi yakan biber gazından uzaklaşmanın, Milano’da onlarca kişiyle konuşup yaşananlarla ilgili desteklerini hissetmenin mutluluğuyla geçirerek Milan Fashion Attack 4 macerasını sonlandırdım.

* My last 24 hours in Milan was all about whining: “Oh, the last party to attend!”, “My last coffee break!”, “My last subway ride!” and so on. (To be honest, not sure why I was so emotional about that subway ride.) Anyway; if I don’t start writing about what happened, this may be my last blog post.

Monday afternoon, I had the opportunity meet DSquared2 team and personally thank to them team about their support during Occupy Gezi movement. (As you may remember, designers Dean and Dan Caten has shown their support over social media channels about what was going on in Turkey.) Witnessing a video/photo shoot for tomorrow’s fashion show, I left DSquared2 headquarters with lots of curiosity.

Monday night, I was ready for my last party night in Milan. Destination was Teatro Manzoni; to attend MSGM and Toilet Paper’s party with lots of familiar faces – that may be a little bit boring after seeing them several times at different parties. Since it was the “last” party to enjoy, I did not seem to have the right to complain about it. 

Tuesday morning was a sort of “first” instead of a “last” as I expected. It was the very first time I made it to a 09:30 fashion show on time. On Via Valtellina, DSquared2 show space was already packed and ready to go.

I had already figured out that there will be some sort of adventure judging by the plane-shaped invitation; however, I was not expecting a plane on the runway! For real; there was a waterfall, a crashed plane, a part of jungle and out-of-heaven boys on the stage!

As models walked down the runway, I was sure about this show, which puts lots of different styles and elements together, will be remembered for a long time. My favourite looks were from the formalwear section of the show (since I can not go topless and look fabulous as those models do!). After those beautiful models and designs, we had a great surprise at the very end of the show. Correction, two great surprises. Kiddos who look like the little versions of Dean and Dan were on the runway with perfectly tailored suits that looked great on them, getting as much attention as the collection gets. As applauses ended and lights were on once again, I was on my way to the backstage, to congratulate Dean and Dan. Not so later, I headed back home to pack – which I had to squeeze in two hours in order to make it in time to my flight back to Istanbul. At some point, I considered “missing” my flight intentionally; however, what would I be like in Milan without a job or home or anything else? Knowing that I had no chance of escaping from reality, I was on the way to Malpensa thinking about these last couple of days full of fun, excitement and new experiences. Milan Fashion Attack 4 ended with such great memories, making me wait for another round of fashion week.
